ECHA published an overview of dates when evaluating competent authorities are planning to submit assessment reports for biocidal active substance approvals or renewals.

The new guidance on Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) is published on the ECHA website. This guidance helps companies and authorities analyse alternatives to biocidal active substances that meet the substitution criteria under the Biocidal Products Regulation.

The Danish Environmental Protection Agency (Miljøstyrelsen) provides grants to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that apply for product authorisation for biocidal products containing active substances listed in Annex I to the Biocides Regulation. Apply before 1 October 2021!!

Ctgb published a validation checklist for BPR applications. These checklists describe the minimum of data and information that will be checked by Ctgb (similar to other MS). If you are preparing your application, make sure to keep an eye on this list, to pass the validation phase more easily and securely.

A new version of ECHA’s Biocidal Products Committee’s Work 2020 programme for active substance approvals has been released.

The Biocidal Products Committee adopted four opinions for the approval of the following active substances:
Icaridin (PT19)
Cyanamide (PT3 and PT18)
Formaldehyde (PT2 and PT3)
Carbendazim (PT7 and PT10)
Start preparing your biocidal product dossiers containing one of these active substances on time.

A new tool has been developed by the BPF working party to help you assess similar uses of products in your biocidal product family.
This automated tool, in the form an MS Excel-based matrix, assists in the application of the criteria referred to in the decision tree of the note on the new concept of biocidal product families (CA-July19-Doc4.2-Final).
